Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Richard Lee (“I”, “me”, or “my”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Reading Between the Wines mobile application (“the App”).

1. Information I Collect

When you create an account and use the App, I collect the following:

Name — provided by you during registration
Email address — used to create and manage your account
Profile picture — optionally uploaded by you
Poll and voting activity — book nominations you submit, votes you cast, and meeting attendance/confirmations within your book club

I do not collect location data, payment information, or any data beyond what is listed above.

2. How I Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to:

Create and manage your account
Identify you within the App (e.g. displaying your name and profile picture to other members of your book club)
Operate core App functionality — book nominations, voting, meeting scheduling, and club history
Communicate with you about your account if necessary, including push notifications about poll and meeting activity (if enabled)

I do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers. I take reasonable technical measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.

4. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services to operate. Each processes your data solely as needed to provide its function within the App, and none is permitted to use your data for its own purposes:

Resend — sends transactional email (password reset, club invites, and reminder emails)
AWS S3 — stores uploaded profile photos
Sentry — receives crash and error reports to help me diagnose and fix bugs
Expo — delivers push notifications to your device

I do not currently integrate with third-party platforms such as Google Calendar. If such integrations are added in the future, this policy will be updated accordingly.

5. Your Rights

You may at any time:

Update your name or profile picture within the App
Delete your account directly within the App (Profile → Delete Account), or by contacting me at leerw4@gmail.com — this will result in permanent deletion of your personal data

6. Age Requirement

The App is intended for users who are 17 years of age or older. By using the App, you confirm that you meet this requirement. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 17.

7. Changes to This Policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If I make material changes, I will notify you via the App or by email. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
